Void - Room 2

In modern physics, the concept of void migrated from atoms’ space of interaction to microparticles inside the atoms, opening new scientific horizons with significant consequences on philosophy and art. Theories of relativity painted the image of a universe defined by the relationship between objects, leaving little room for any possibility of emptiness. In an even more radical way, the quantum description of the world negates the possibility of existence for a strictly immaterial reality. This second section dedicated to the void continues with a series of works created by authors from different generations. Aiming at the representation of incorporeality, they fundamentally negate, disprove or contradict the quantum dimension, focusing on the artwork’s physicalness over the idea of emptiness it represents. Some of these works, created by recent generations of artists, recount the persistence of a fascination with the topic of the void, absence, and invisible, approached through digital languages.
