Regina (Mede, 1894 - 1974), Regina Cassolo Bracchi’s nom de plume, explored the interpenetration between shape and space, between matter and void, since the Thirties. Starting from the Fifties, she introduced the use of Plexiglas into her works, thanks to which she radically lightened her sculptural objects, making them almost invisible, textureless, and weightless. In the series of artwork synthetically titled Strutture, Regina lets trajectories emerge from the void, a sort of ideal combination between the force lines of futuristic tradition and Fontana’s spatialism.
