These artists’ works present a critical and problematized vision of our relationship with Matter and Reality experienced through the digital filter. These artists were active at the birth of the Internet in the early Nineties, witnessing the progressive refinement of new living space for artworks that are simultaneously material and immaterial. From the first works involving the web to the hybrid post-digital languages, the last room in the section dedicated to Flow presents several examples of an articulate panorama of research regarding diverse topics: the non-atomic materiality of data, software as a generation process of sensor output, the relationship between perception and digital technology, together with it socio-cultural implications.
