The conceptual artist Mark Lombardi (Syracuse, USA, 1951 – New York, USA, 2000) explores the intersections between politics, economy, and social forces, highlighting the complex and invisible socio-relational dynamics in which we are immersed. The exhibited artwork is an example of this research, representing a diagram of the financial transactions and political collusions between the Bush family, Osama Bin Laden’s family business, the banks, and several big tycoons. Through these complex graphical systems that reconstruct historical events –financial frauds and political scandals specifically – Lombardi carries out what has been defined as a “post-conceptual reinvention of history painting”.
