The expansion of reality into digital is the basis of the research carried out by the transdisciplinary duo MHSR – Birch Cooper (Ester, USA, 1985) and Brenna Murphy (Edmonds, USA, 1986). The installation is composed of ambient lights, sounds, and physical structures that change and transform based on the experience carried out in virtual reality by the viewer/explorer. In fact, the viewer can wear a VR headset to cross a virtual environment overlapping with the physical one. While the visitor explores the virtual area, their movements activate changes in the real space, generating music which, in turn, activates the lights in the room. Through this interaction, the VR user gains the role of performer, while the other visitors become the installation's public.
